Walking with Purpose: Seattle’s Walk to End Alzheimer’s

On September 28th, the Upward Architecture team laced up our sneakers and joined thousands of others at Seattle Center for the Walk to End Alzheimer’s. Together with members of the Rotary Club of West Seattle, we walked 1.4 miles around the Space Needle and International Fountain to raise awareness and funds for Alzheimer’s care, support, and research.

This cause is deeply personal for our firm. Upward’s owner, Mark Ward, lost his father to Alzheimer’s in 2016, making this an event that hits close to home. Walking alongside family, friends, and fellow Rotarians felt like a small but meaningful way to honor his memory and contribute to the fight against this disease.

Mark and Erin Ward were joined by team member Sallye Lindsay, along with Carrie Anderson and fellow Rotarian Greg Dirks. The crisp fall morning was filled with purple flowers, stories of loved ones, and an undeniable sense of community spirit. We’re proud to have been part of this event and look forward to walking again next year. Reach out if you’d like to join our team—we’d love the company.
