Upward Architecture collaborated with Abbott Construction to reimagine their Seattle office, creating a workspace that reflects the company’s collaborative culture, high-performance standards, and client-focused approach. The renovation was designed not only to refresh the physical environment but also to improve productivity and strengthen employee engagement. The result is a flexible, brand-integrated space that embodies Abbott’s reputation for building with integrity and fostering strong partnerships.

The new layout blends open-plan work areas with enclosed shared offices and private offices, providing employees with a variety of settings for focused work, teamwork, and client meetings. Central collaborative zones and glass-fronted conference rooms encourage transparency and visual connection across teams, while strategic use of partial-height partitions and glazing balances openness with acoustic control.

Material and finish selections were guided by Abbott’s brand identity—rooted in craftsmanship, trust, and innovation. Warm wood tones, durable flooring, and clean-lined furniture create a professional yet welcoming atmosphere, while subtle brand colors and environmental graphics reinforce company values. Reception and client-facing areas were elevated with layered lighting, integrated display space, and branded wall treatments, ensuring that the office reflects the quality and attention to detail Abbott delivers in the field.
