Set on the south-facing slope of Queen Anne, this four-story townhome offered the perfect scale and location for its new owners, but the interiors lacked the refinement and cohesion they envisioned. The scope of work included a full renovation, reworking the home from top to bottom to align with the clients’ contemporary aesthetic and to elevate everyday living.

The design team began by stripping finishes back to their foundations, in some cases down to the studs, before rebuilding the residence with precision and care. Wide-plank engineered wood flooring and rift-sawn white oak doors introduced warmth and continuity throughout, while crisp wall finishes and new LED lighting created a clean, modern backdrop for art and furnishings.

A central feature of the renovation is the rebuilt stair, now detailed with cantilevered glass railings that bring light deeper into the home and reinforce visual connectivity across levels. The kitchen and bathrooms were reimagined with bespoke cabinetry, stone surfaces, and carefully integrated storage, fabricated in collaboration with Bellan Construction.

The result is a residence that balances craft and clarity—where every surface, fixture, and joint reflects an elevated design sensibility. Once an uninspired shell, the townhome now expresses the individuality of its owners while taking full advantage of its hillside perch and city views. The work was completed while Mark was a founding principal at Urbanadd.
